My Games

These days game design is my primary artistic focus. My work seeks to energize player interest by playfully questioning the norms of gaming culture and practice.

Around The Archipelago

A point-and-click adventure game about learning to tell stories, taking place in a fantastical world of amphibian people. Made for the Capstone Project requirement of my MFA. Download the game here. See the full list of asset credits here.

The Accession of Site 379

A Twine game about a scholar trying to identify mysterious ancient objects through sensory exploration which explores the defamiliarization effect of text games. Made for the class “Writing for Interactivity”. Play it here.

Courage of the Kobolds

Six dice sit on a black & white map composed on square paper pieces. Five of the dice are four-sided, while one is twelve-sided. In the background, more map tiles and dice are visible.

A two-player “dungeon defender vs dungeon delver” board game in which a heroic group of monsters attempt to safeguard their underground home from a team of rapacious adventurers. Collaboratively made for the class “Independent Study: Tabletop Design”. I served as associate designer and artistic lead on the project. Play it here.

Haunted

Haunted is a moody visual novel about a girl obsessed with the strange visions she sees within the neighborhood haunted house. An experiment in combining human-authored text with computer-generated imagery, Haunted was made for the class “Writing for Interactivity”. I served as narrative director and lead writer on the project. Download the game here and read a sample of the Yarnspinner code here.
